Ways to solve linear equations
Introduction :
Ways to solve linear equations is one interesting topics in mathematics. Solve two linear equations is used to solve different two linear equations in this topic. This is the process of ways to explain in a individual manner to solve the equation. An equation (expression) of the form ax + by + c = 0, where a, b and c are real numbers such that a ≠ 0 and b ≠ 0, is called a linear equation.
Ways of solve to linear equations:
The linear equations can be solved through
1) Substitutions method
2) Elimination method
3) Fraction method
The substitution method can be done through working on one equation for anyone of the variable, make sure that you plug-in the value on another equation. Hence the substitution method can be solved. The elimination method is also mentioned as addition method. We must simply transfer the equations on either side to get the value for the variable x.
The standard form of linear equations can be clearly explained with the help of linear algebraic expressions. The standard form shows the basic form of linear expressions. The standard form looks like a x + b y = c. This standard form has the representation in analytic geometry and the equation is generalized in operator theory. The above shown standard form is the two dimensional linear equation. In the standard form the constants are a, b and c and the variables are x and y. The linear algebra equation is mainly used to find the unknowns with the help of known variables. The following example explains standard form linear equations.
Problem for ways to solve linear equations through substitution method:
4x + y = 24
Solution:
Step1:
2x – 3y = –2
4x + y = 24
Step 2:
4x + y = 24
y = –4x + 24
Step 3:
2x – 3(–4x + 24) = –2
2x + 12x – 72 = –2
14x = 70
x = 5
Step 4:
y = –4(5) + 24 = –20 + 24 = 4
Then the solution is (x, y) = (5, 4).
2. Solve by elimination method of two linear equation:
x + y = 10
x - y = 2
Solution:
Step 1:
x + y = 10
x - y = 2
_________
2x.....= 12
2x/2..= 12/2
x=6
Step 2:
6 + y = 10
-6.........-6
__________
y = 4
Solution is (6, 4).
